Eligibility

Any Ivorian living in the North East of England region and their partner can apply to join Akwaba North East.

Mutual Aid & Solidarity

Access to our community fund that supports families during bereavements, emergencies, and difficult times.

Voting Rights

After your probation period, vote on community decisions and elect leadership at the Annual General Assembly.

Member Portal Access

Full access to the online member portal to view news, events, documents, and manage your account.

Community Chat

Stay connected with fellow members through our community messaging platform for updates and discussions.

Advocacy & Support

Benefit from the association's network for advice on settling in the North East, administrative guidance, and community support.

Cultural Celebrations

Participate in Independence Day festivities, cultural gatherings, and family events that celebrate our Ivorian heritage.

Membership Process

Step 1

Step 1: Submit Request

Submit a membership request through our website.

Step 2

Step 2: Attend a Meeting

You will be invited to attend one of our monthly meetings.

Step 3

Step 3: Receive Registration Code

After the meeting, you will receive a unique registration code.

Step 4

Step 4: Create Account

Use the code to create your member account and complete your registration.

Step 5

Step 5: Probation Period

New members have a 6-month probation period before becoming eligible for association support.

Monthly Contribution

Members contribute a monthly amount to support our community activities, mutual aid fund, and cultural celebrations. The current rate is shown below.

£10.00/ month

This amount is set by the Executive Committee and may be adjusted at the Annual General Assembly.
